About This Site

In the forums I am known as "DeeperThought", but my real name is Dan Gaskill, and I have been modding since April of 2006.  Fissile Materials is my site about mods and TCs I have worked on for Duke Nukem 3D.  The modding I do consists mostly of scripting; I write code for characters, weapons, visual effects, and many other things in the game.  Duke Nukem 3D is an old game, first released in 1996, but I use a modern, enhanced source port:  EDuke32.

How to Play These Mods

If you want to play WGR2:  Siege Breaker, all you have to do is download it and start a game by clicking on the included .bat file.  It's a free game.

The other released mods hosted here require that you have a file named 'duke3d.grp' from the Atomic Edition of Duke Nukem 3D.  All you need to do is copy 'duke3d.grp' into an empty folder, then extract the contents of one of the mod downloads into the folder.  Each mod includes its own documentation, but getting started is as simple as that.

If you don't have The Atomic Edition of Duke Nukem 3D, I recommend that you get it.  It's a classic first person shooter, and well worth the 6 bucks.  Just go HERE, and click on the button that says "GET DUKE FOR $5.99".  Not only is it an excellent game in its own right, it gives you access to lots of great free content, like the mods on this site.
